Summary

What is mattering, and how do we make ourselves and others feel like they matter? Dr. Lindsey Burgardt is back (we did an interview after the Palisades fire together) to dive deep into what it means to matter. Dr. Burghardt is the Chief Science Officer at the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, and some of her most recent research focuses on Mattering. Today, Dr. Burghardt has practical advice for all of us, including parents, to help make both kids and adults feel like they matter and to understand where that stems from. She also gives us some ways we can foster mattering for ourselves as adults! Whatever our age, we all want to feel seen and feel we matter, and Dr. Burghardt helps show us what mattering can do for us.
