Summary
Stone Heart...This is a bit of a departure as this falls in the women's fiction genre. The story follows Lauren Stone, a successful singer and recovering addict, who learned the hard way that people love her for what she is, not who she is–everyone except for Danny, the ex who broke her heart. On the brink of a career crisis, Lauren has a chance encounter with Danny. They realize their spark is still there, but the risks of pursuing a relationship are higher than ever before for both of them Life is rarely delineated along black and white lines, and I enjoy writing characters who find themselves in morally gray areas between what’s considered right and wrong. I think most readers can relate to having to make hard choices, knowing there could be consequences, and struggling to make the best decision–especially when it comes to relationships. And finding a way to tell Lauren’s story, which includes a central romantic entanglement, but isn’t a romance in the strictest definition of the genre, was a thought-provoking challenge for me as a writer.
