Text: Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-18, 37-39 As we begin Acts chapter 1, Jesus is with His disciples after rising from the dead, and is about to return to the Father. 4 …being assembled together with them, He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “You have heard from me.” 5 For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 When they therefore came together, they asked him, “Lord, will You at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put in his own authority. 8 But you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Let’s go to the beginning of Chapter 2, and see what happened 10 days later.
