Nevada Firestorm Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared a state of emergency as a fast-moving wildfire is now forcing tens of thousands of people in the Reno area to evacuate, a major highway through the area is shut down, and thousands more are without power. Correspondent Clayton Neville reports the Hawk Fire is still zero-percent contained. Iran Defies Sanctions Threat Iran continues to defy the United States despite crippling sanctions being threatened by the Trump administration, with the Iranian parliament announcing they advanced plans to charge a service fee for ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran’s president saying a US memorandum is the best path out of a stalled war. Correspondent Rica Ann Garcia reports that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will hold a news conference today to discuss those new sanctions. The Jeffries-Kushner Meeting Both Republicans and Democrats are asking questions after reports surfaced from the New York Times that Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, met privately in recent weeks. Musicians Plan Walkout The Boston Musicians’ Association authorized a strike for the first time in its orchestra’s history, but hours later said it would extend their plans for 48 hours after their three-year contract expired.
