It is Friday morning, the 19th of June, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Acts 23:11. This is Jesus speaking to Paul: “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.” Then we go straight to Philippians 1:21. Paul says: ” For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Are you afraid to die? Are you afraid of the future? Are you afraid that maybe something will happen to your family if you are not here? This is your time to put your trust in the Lord. We’re living in perilous times. I’m sure many young mothers, when they look at their children and their babies, say, ”Lord, what kind of future does my child have?” I want to say something to you, if you are in Christ Jesus, you are immortal until your work here on earth has been completed. Now I’ve heard that said many times by many wonderful men and women of God. I am immortal until my work here on earth is completed. You see, Jesus said to Paul, ”You’ve got to go to Rome now. You’ve witnessed for me in Jerusalem and it caused a lot of trouble.” They were actually ganging up together to kill him. The Lord said, ”But Paul, you’ve still got to go to Rome. You’ve got a work to do there before I call you home.” Philippians 1:21: ” For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” When you have that attitude there’s nothing to fear in this world because immortal means that no one or nothing can kill you until God says so.
