It is Saturday morning, the 16th of May, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Acts 18:9: ” Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent;   for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” Oh, that is probably my most special scripture verse in the Bible. That is the verse which the Lord Jesus Christ Himself called me to preach the Gospel. On the 18th of February, 1979, I got saved, but this scripture was the one where He sent me to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth. It changed my life completely. I have never been the same since I received that call from the Lord. For me personally, my dear friend, it was a direct instruction from Jesus Himself. Even as He spoke to Paul, He spoke into my heart, exactly the same two verses. Now the same thing happened to the disciples. Matthew stood up, left his money table, he was tax collector, and walked away following Jesus. Peter, Andrew, James, and John left their fishing nets immediately and walked away to follow Jesus. Paul, the tent-maker, exactly the same, left his tent-making business and followed Jesus.  It was a crystal-clear calling! Now I want to say to you today, maybe there’s a young man, a young lady, that’s listening to this message and they say, ”I too want to do the same.” But you need to have a clear scripture from God, and He will speak to you if you give Him the time. It’s no good thinking it’s a good idea because it won’t last, I can tell you right now.
