Paul shared his journey beginning in July 2011 when he started following Christ, through his divorce in 2010, and eventually leading to his confirmation as a Catholic on April 4th of the current year. He described how reading the Catechism and studying Catholic teachings, particularly around the Eucharist, led to his understanding that the Catholic Church's belief in the real presence of Christ in the sacrament was biblical and historically accurate. Paul explained how his previous Protestant understanding of John 6:53 as symbolic changed when he realized the Catholic Church's interpretation of the real presence, which he confirmed after reading St. Ignatius of Antioch's writings and receiving a clear message from the Lord about the Eucharist being His body and blood. The conversation highlighted how Paul's experience with the Eucharist transformed his worship and understanding of the Mass, bringing a new level of reverence and connection to Jesus that he had not experienced in Protestant services.
