We also can't get over how his vehemently unsuperstitious streak sounds exactly like how he talks about religion (they're both giving repression.) Then we clown Bobby, Buck, Hen, and Chimney for peer-pressuring Eddie into a date with Ana Flores without ever asking him what he wants — they've all just decided his anxiety means he like-likes her. We break down the full comp-het pileup: the book club interrogation with the emotional support water bottle in hand, Eddie calling Buck a traitor for reading a book about women (and implying Eddie likes one), and the loaded \"the universe is screaming at you and you refuse to listen\" — a line that has nothing to do with the actual jinx and everything to do with the elephant in the room.
