You wrote it out by hand. You sealed it up, you put it in an envelope, and you slapped a stamp on it. And then, the waiting. That was part of it, wasn't it? You’d wait days, maybe weeks, for the mail carrier to bring it to your door. When it finally arrived, you’d hold that envelope. You’d feel the weight of it. You’d look at the handwriting, the slant of the letters, the way they looped the 'g's. And when you finally opened it, you weren't just reading words. You were hearing a voice. You were feeling the warmth of the person who had taken the time, the effort, and the love to send it across the miles. Now, I want to tell you that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, is God’s own letter to us. It’s not a quick text message. It’s not a fleeting thought. It is a carefully penned, deeply personal correspondence from the Creator of the universe to the person He loves most. When we open the Bible, we aren't just reading ancient history or a list of rules. We are opening a letter from the King of Kings. And what is the message in that letter? It is, fundamentally, a message of love. The world tells us that we have to earn our way in. It says, "If you work hard enough, if you behave perfectly, if you achieve enough, then you will be worthy." But God’s letter says something entirely different.
