From there, Dan lays out the most important rule for dealing with household odors: don’t just cover them up with candles, sprays, or air fresheners. If you want the smell gone, you have to eliminate the source.The segment walks through three practical tools for removing odors at home. First are absorbers and neutralizers, including baking soda, activated charcoal, and white vinegar. Next are enzymatic cleaners, which are especially useful for biological odors like pet urine, but need to be used properly and should not be mixed with bleach or harsh disinfectants.
