Later, the jobs report cited a record number of jobs created—nearly three times what experts predicted—with manufacturing adding 16,000 positions last month and standing 58,000 above its December low, driven in part by demand for data-center equipment plus investments in drug manufacturing, defense production, and semiconductor plants.
