She subsequently commenced working in the hospitals in the north of England and gained extensive experience as well as qualifications in various medical specialities. In 2001, she completed her GP training and before relocating to Brisbane in 2009, she worked for 7 years as a partner in a General Practice in Manchester.Nelum holds a membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK (MRCP). She obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and a Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP).
