I'll guide young artists through drawing prompts, telling stories and sharing history about the topics we draw. Kids are encouraged to use their imaginations and make decisions as they draw. One of the goals is to build self-confidence because we know there's no wrong way to do art! Hi, I’m your host, Aunt Dewey. I’m a former New York City kindergarten teacher. Now I work in tech teaching adults how to use various software, platforms, and programs. I started Imagination Draw Along because I think a low-stim, screen-free experience is good for kids and aspiring artists. We move slowly on purpose. I encourage listeners to make their own artistic choices as they follow along. It’s a light hearted show that helps build critical thinking skills by guiding the imagination through wonder. Episodes are 10-15 minutes long. New episodes will be available every Tuesday and Thursday. (I recently transitioned from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Thanks for drawing with me today!","last_synced_at":"2026-07-14T22:17:09.930422+00:00","page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/imagination-draw-along-7682620"},"episode":{"title":"Let's draw a desert scene","slug":"let-s-draw-a-desert-scene","published_at":"2026-05-07T12:00:00+00:00","page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/imagination-draw-along-7682620/let-s-draw-a-desert-scene","show_page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/imagination-draw-along-7682620","url":"https://rss.com/podcasts/imagination-draw-along/2801525","audio_url":"https://content.rss.com/episodes/370309/2801525/imagination-draw-along/2026_05_07_03_39_41_d43b373b-80fa-4a2e-aeb9-0f05fa4c8990.mp3","summary":"Today I want to draw a desert scene. This scene will show the flat, sandy desert with two cacti. a butte with sedimentary layers, a rattle snake from deserts of the western hemisphere, and a camel from the eastern hemisphere. We talk about how some artists like drawing with accuracy and some like drawing abstract and both are cool! Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing: We drew a rattle snake and a camel-- which would you rather ride across the desert? Why do you think deserts all over the world have the same climate but different animals? Some artists like to draw accurately, some love abstract, some love both, what’s your favorite way to draw?
