Communion does not save you. But that does not make either one insignificant. Baptism points to our union with Christ—His death, His resurrection, and our new life in Him. The Lord’s Supper calls believers to remember Christ, proclaim His death, recognize one another as His body, and look forward to His return. These practices do not complete something Jesus left unfinished. They point us back to what He finished. Baptism says: I belong to Christ. The Table says: We belong to Christ. So hold your convictions firmly enough to obey Scripture and humbly enough to recognize that faithful Christians have disagreed over some of the details.
