Life is not a spectator sport. You were created for growth, purpose, courage, and transformation—and none of those things happen by accident. Crusade with Me! is a podcast for people who refuse to settle for drifting through life. It is an invitation to embark on a lifelong journey of becoming who God created you to be. Each episode explores the intersection of faith, discipline, wisdom, health, personal growth, and purposeful living. Drawing from Scripture, ancient wisdom, practical experience, and honest conversation, host Dave and Kathy challenges listeners to grow stronger in body, sharper in mind, and deeper in spirit. Whether we're discussing faith, resilience, habits, leadership, suffering, purpose, relationships, health, or the everyday challenges of modern life, the goal remains the same: To help you become more aligned with your calling and more capable of fulfilling it. This isn't about chasing perfection. It's about pursuing progress. It's about replacing wishful thinking with intentional action. It's about becoming rooted, resilient, and useful. Most importantly, it's about discovering the freedom that comes from being exactly who God created you to b…","last_synced_at":"2026-06-25T18:19:17.612737+00:00","page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/crusade-with-me-7168317"},"episode":{"title":"Plans, What We Know, and How We Act","slug":"plans-what-we-know-and-how-we-act","published_at":"2026-06-11T08:00:00+00:00","page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/crusade-with-me-7168317/plans-what-we-know-and-how-we-act","show_page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/crusade-with-me-7168317","url":"https://rss.com/podcasts/crusade-with-me/2894808","audio_url":"https://content.rss.com/episodes/311031/2894808/crusade-with-me/2026_06_07_20_13_26_7b5317d9-6e90-4392-a5b5-49e3e37ef86d.mp3","summary":"We all think we know how life is supposed to work. We make plans. We form opinions. We create expectations about what God should do, how He should do it, and when He should do it. But what happens when God's plans are different from ours? In this episode of Crusade with Me! Dave and Kathy explore the gap between what we think we know and the reality God reveals through Scripture. Abram thought he understood his future. He had a plan, a timeline, and a logical conclusion about how his life would unfold. Yet God had something far greater in mind—something Abram could not see from where he stood. The Psalmist reminds us that real security is never found in our own strength, intelligence, resources, or carefully constructed plans. The Lord is not impressed by the strength of a horse or the might of an army. Our hope is found in Him alone. In First John, we discover that God has already shown us what love looks like. Yet even with that revelation, we often reshape God's love into something more comfortable, more convenient, or more aligned with our preferences. We want God's blessings while resisting God's transformation. Then Jesus confronts us with the sobering account of the rich man and Lazarus. Even in torment, the rich man remains the same man he was in life. He still sees Lazarus as someone to serve him. He still wants to negotiate. He still refuses to truly repent. The flames reveal what was already there. Together, these readings ask a difficult but necessary question: Are we allowing God to transform us, or are we simply asking Him to bless the plans we've already made? Join us as we discuss faith, humility, self-deception, God's surprising plans, and the danger of becoming so attached to our own understanding that we miss what God is trying to teach us.
