Agatha Christie, of course: the Queen of Crime, a real-life Dame of the British Empire, and author of sixty-six mystery novels that spanned the Twentieth Century, defining a genre. For five years, Catherine Brobeck and Kemper Donovan revisited these novels in publication order, ranking them according to pre-set criteria (plot, character, etc.). Tragically, Catherine Brobeck passed away at the end of 2021. She will be forever missed. Since then, Kemper has completed the podcast's ranking project, and continues to celebrate the greatness of Christie by attempting to solve the ultimate mystery where she is concerned. Why Christie--and Christie alone--endures as powerfully as she does.","last_synced_at":null,"page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/all-about-agatha-christie-959061"},"episode":{"title":"They're New to Us: Two Vintage Agatha Christie Television Adaptations Recently Made Available","slug":"they-re-new-to-us-two-vintage-agatha-christie-television-adaptations-recently-made-available","published_at":"2025-10-18T06:19:00+00:00","page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/all-about-agatha-christie-959061/they-re-new-to-us-two-vintage-agatha-christie-television-adaptations-recently-made-available","show_page_url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/all-about-agatha-christie-959061","url":"https://bleav.com/shows/all-about-agatha-christie/","audio_url":"https://pscrb.fm/rss/p/mgln.ai/e/1385/injector.simplecastaudio.com/d8115215-7700-49cd-9bb9-8d422a415f6a/episodes/76289bb0-5f08-4be8-9b1f-44df838e2e13/audio/128/default.mp3?aid=rss_feed&awCollectionId=d8115215-7700-49cd-9bb9-8d422a415f6a&awEpisodeId=76289bb0-5f08-4be8-9b1f-44df838e2e13&feed=UP2Isnsy","summary":"\"For there is nothing lost, that may be found, if sought.\" Words of wisdom courtesy of Edmund Spenser (and Colonel Brandon, as played by the inimitable Alan Rickman, RIP). And I'm taking them to heart in this episode, as we get to discover two Christie television adaptations that were not readily available to us until quite recently, a Poirot and a Marple. It isn't often that I can say this, but: hooray for the Internet! You can now pre-order Sweet Spot, the third book in my Ghostwriter Mysteries series! It comes out in late June 2026, but pre-orders are hugely helpful to me. Thank you, as always, for your support. Here are the links to the two television episodes discussed in this podcast episode: Poirot in the U.S. from 1962, and Estonian Miss Marple from 1990. Enjoy! Loose Lips, the second book in my Ghostwriter Mysteries series, is currently available for purchase. You can also buy The Busy Body, the first book in my Ghostwriter Mysteries series, in paperback at your bookseller of choice (make it an indie if you possibly can) in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia and New Zealand.","meta_description":"\"For there is nothing lost, that may be found, if sought.\" Words of wisdom courtesy of Edmund Spenser (and Colonel Brandon, as played by the inimitable Al…","key_points":[],"chapters":[],"topics":[],"duration_seconds":2206,"processing_state":"not_requested","actions":[{"name":"request_transcript","method":"POST","url":"https://stenobird.com/v1/public/podcasts/all-about-agatha-christie-959061/episodes/they-re-new-to-us-two-vintage-agatha-christie-television-adaptations-recently-made-available/transcription-requests","description":"Idempotently request low-priority transcript generation for this episode."},{"name":"read_markdown","method":"GET","url":"https://stenobird.com/podcast/all-about-agatha-christie-959061/they-re-new-to-us-two-vintage-agatha-christie-television-adaptations-recently-made-available.md","description":"Read the agent-friendly Markdown representation of this episode resource."}]}}
