So today I am going to walk you through five questions so you can audit your own website right now. Pull it up on your phone. Mobile is actually better because most people are hiring voice actors on mobile. Got it? Good. Let's go. Question One: Is Your Demo Above the Fold Above the fold means visible without scrolling. You land on the site and boom, there is your hero audio. This was an issue for me for about ten years. I had an image of myself, a little blurb, logos, and then my audio came. If someone lands on your homepage and has to scroll past a hero image, a headline, a bio paragraph, three sections of copy, and more logos before they hear a single second of your audio, you have already lost most of them. Your demo should be the first thing. The audio is the product. Everything else is context. Friction does not have to be enormous to be fatal. Even one extra click, one moment of confusion, one second of wondering whether the page is broken is enough to lose someone who has 80 other submissions waiting. Question Two: Is There Any Text Around Your Audio Player This one surprises people. Google cannot listen to your demo.
