Self-awareness is both a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing because it improves who you are down to your very core. It is a curse because it is so hard to do the work of facing up to your own dark side. All of us are so good at pretending we are better than who we are, because it's hard to look at our selfishness, greed, anger or dark side. When someone lacks self-awareness, it is far more difficult to have success in relationships.
