Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty, and her defense — led by Kevin Reddington — is built on an insanity claim: severe postpartum psychosis, they say, made worse by psychiatric overmedication. Most of the day was procedural — Patrick laying out the timeline of prescriptions and the family's attempts to get Lindsay help before January 24, the kind of testimony the defense will eventually try to use to their advantage. Then it stopped being procedural. Patrick got emotional describing his children, more than once, and needed a moment to compose himself in front of the jury. Court is now in recess until Wednesday morning at 9 AM EDT, when he's set to continue testifying for the prosecution. Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions regardless of what her medication history looked like. After the killings, she allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Patrick was running errands when it happened and has since relocated to Manhattan, where he's spoken publicly about his wife's mental health. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.
