Lindsay's providers allegedly charted intrusive thoughts when she was reporting a male voice commanding her to harm her children. Those two presentations carry completely different clinical weight. After the killings, a forensic evaluation diagnosed her with Bipolar I — a condition her providers had considered but never confirmed. Antidepressants prescribed for the wrong diagnosis can trigger the very psychosis the defense is now building its case around. Shavaun explains the spectrum, where the line between depression and psychosis falls, and why a woman in psychosis can build snowmen with her kids in the morning and be catastrophically disconnected from reality by that evening.
