Chief executive Robin Birchall is an old hand at mining and knows his way around the capital markets. For Serval he's secured some serious cornerstone investors and has managed to raise around £3 million, notwithstanding the volatile and uncertain macroeconomic environment created by the Iran war. The plan is to get on the ground in Africa in double quick time, and work the assets up to the point where Serval merits a billion dollar valuation. Will it happen? Well, commodities prices are good, Serval has an excellent and experienced team, and a suite of assets that Birchall claims are some of the best in the region.
