While Rhaenyra tries to govern with her late father's tempered, peaceful ideals, the Rogue Prince Daemon Targaryen is out here running a completely different, highly aggressive script. Daemon even demands Ormund’s young ward, Prince Daeron Targaryen, as a high-stakes hostage. Rhaenyra spends the entire episode wringing her hands over the ethics of executing her teenage half-brother, eventually deciding to compromise by sending him to the Wall for life—only to bring Queen Alicent in for a reunion and realize the absolute horror truth: the kid they locked in the cells is a complete imposter.
