On today show we are talking about the situation in the Persian Gulf. I’m here to tell you that the straight of Hormuz is going to be a weaponized flash point for years to come. Even if the Trump administration negotiates a deal with Iranian regime, there are too many third parties who would benefit from weaponizing transit through the channel. There are reports of independent parties already demanding ransom from ships for up to $10M dollars for safe passage. For only a few thousand dollars a rogue actor can convince the world that the straight is not a safe place for shipping. Headlines are not going to bring peace to the Middle East. A simple agreement between Washington and Tehran will not bring peace to the region.
