Life is shitty to us in one way or another, no matter who we are or what we try to do to prevent it. It is, however, our choice on what to do about the shittiness. Blaming others, giving up, or leaving weird hate comments on Facebook isn’t going to make the pain of our pasts go away, so we have to own them and heal them in whatever ways we can. Maybe that looks like going to therapy, maybe it looks like doing ayahuasca in the jungle, or maybe it looks like getting plastic surgery in Vietnam. We’ve tried all three, Besties!
