Key Concepts Covered The Felt Sense The felt sense is pure awareness of the emotions and sensations happening in the body — without judgment and without the mental narrative that usually accompanies our feelings. It is the foundation of somatic work and a powerful tool for anyone navigating an autoimmune condition. The "Two Oars" Philosophy Alison uses the metaphor of rowing a boat with two oars: one oar represents physical health (diet, nutrient density, AIP) and the other represents emotional health. Rowing with only one oar sends you in circles. True healing requires both. The Nervous System & Stress Responses The nervous system responds to perceived threats through four stress responses: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn.
