SOUL Vibrant is Officially Back since I took time to focus on my health . It's bizarre how quickly " My Body, My Choice ", "A woman's right to choose ", and other various pro-choice attitudes change when the choices go against societal "comforts". Or when the individual reclaiming their right of choice is deemed unworthy, undesirable , or unfit to make such noise. 47 % of physicians underestimate Black patients' pain levels. Black Women face a 3x higher mortality rate compared to other races, and 40% of providers have negative attitudes about patients with higher weight [Fat] bodies. I sit at the intersection of all 3 identities. I'm a statistic, Tune in, as I vulnerably reveal my journey navigating the healthcare system and the Choices I had to make to reclaim my Voice, Body, and Life.
