Not the behavioral assessment or some questionnaire or observation, but what in the brain is a depression? The same can be asked of delusion, hallucination, addiction and so forth.Yes, there could be several anomalies [with genes, cells, and so forth] that maybe responsible. However, what are the closely responsible players that decide the configurations of disorder, away from order?All the evidence in neuroscience has said neurons are responsible for functions. But neurons with their electrical and chemical signals. So, since there has not been the possibility to build a mechanistic theory of neurons for functions, the next option is electrochemical.
