Né en Iran et ayant vécu en Espagne, Ashkan Karbasfrooshan s’est installé à Montréal avec sa famille dans les années 80. En étudiant au John Molson School of Business, il décide de se lancer dans le online industrie. Il fonde la plateforme de diffusion vidéo WatchMojo en 2007. Après des débuts timides, WatchMojo se concentre sur des publications style Top 10 en 2012 puis explode et devient rentable. En 2025 WatchMojo Youtube channel possède 26 millions d’abonnés et plus de 30 000 videos.Depuis quelques années, Ashkan a un nouveau projet, le “Peanut Project” dans le but de ramener le Baseball à Montréal.
