The importance of vessel health and preservation in cancer care is explored in this CNSA podcast. Practical, research and patient perspectives are discussed along with how to maximise device selection, secure dressings and first-time insertion. Evidence based guidelines created for cancer care are now available as well as PROs to ensure we understand the patient experience better. Associate Professor Nicole Gavin, clinician and researcher in haematology and bone marrow transplant, is joined by Kerrie Curtis cancer care nurse at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Austin Health; Emily Larsen research fellow at Griffith University and the RBWH and Penny Comans Bachelor of Psychology (Honors) and a cancer survivor with a special interest in research about shared decision making.
