## Resource

The NHL is ditching surprise goalie call-ups starting in 2026, replacing them with dedicated emergency backups for every game — no more Zamboni drivers or college students stepping in last-minute. While it kills the spontaneity, it also elevates the legends: David Ayres, a 42-year-old Zamboni driver who played 28 minutes and won; Matt Berlin, a student who got called mid-exam and stopped the only shot he faced (with McDavid’s endorsement); and Zach Dietz, who went from fan to backup in under an hour. These wild stories may be rarer now, but they’ll forever live in hockey lore. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
