## Resource

The Edmonton Oilers just made headlines for signing Alex Formenton — a player with a controversial past — sparking debate across the hockey world. Acquitted of sexual assault charges in 2023, Formenton’s one-year, $850K deal signals the Oilers’ ongoing pattern of taking bold, win-first gambles on players with messy histories. From Evander Kane to Mike Babcock to GM Stan Bowman, the team’s history of second chances is no secret — and they’re not backing down from the heat. This move isn’t just about ice time; it’s a statement that winning trumps reputation — even when it ruffles feathers.
