## Resource

Landon DuPont, projected as the 1 pick in the 2027 NHL draft, just committed to Michigan hockey — and he’s bringing serious firepower with 18 goals and 73 points last season. The Wolverines, already a Frozen Four contender with key returnees like Hage, Horcoff, and goalie Ivankovic, are now loaded with elite talent, including three first-round picks from 2025 and 2026. But can a 17-year-old defenseman thrive at the NCAA level? While past stars like Werenski and Hughes made instant impacts, college hockey is evolving — and Michigan’s mix of youth and experience could be the key to their first national title since 1998. Still, with programs like Denver and Michigan State also stacking top draft picks, the battle for supremacy is far from over.
