## Resource

Carolina Hurricanes’ latest move to sign Pierre-Olivier Joseph has sparked debate — not as Nikishin’s replacement, but as a potential seventh defenseman. Joseph brings elite takeaways and physicality, even with limited ice time, giving him an edge over younger prospects and stiff competition from Mike Reilly. While Reilly’s stats look better on paper thanks to a championship team, Joseph’s superior skating, coverage, and versatility make him a strong playoff fit. With Seth Jarvis sidelined, the Canes have flexibility to keep both players around — but who earns that final roster spot will come down to in-game performance.
