## Resource

Jiri Tlusty was a sneaky-good scorer who quietly lit up the Carolina Hurricanes during their rough patch, putting up 76 goals and 145 points in 322 games — most of his career spent under coaches like Kirk Muller and Paul Maurice. Drafted 13th overall by Toronto in 2006, he bounced around before finding his footing with Carolina in 2009, exploding offensively in 2011-12 with 17 goals and 36 points, then crushing it again in a shortened 2012-13 season with 23 goals and 38 points in just 48 games. His Selke Trophy buzz was wild for a guy often overlooked — but his defensive game never quite matched his offensive flair. After fading out with New Jersey and retiring in Finland, Tlusty remains a “what if” player: talented enough to be more, but stuck in the churn of a rebuilding franchise.
