## Resource

The Capitals are betting big for 2026-27, signing high-priced free agents Alex Tuch and Boone Jenner while extending Pierre-Luc Dubois — moves that signal a playoff-or-bust mentality as Ovechkin’s era nears its end. Tuch brings elite scoring pedigree, Jenner offers veteran leadership and goals, and Dubois, despite injury setbacks, remains a top-tier talent. All three deals strain the cap, forcing fans to question if the returns justify the cost as Washington pushes for one last deep run.
