## Resource

C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans are putting contract talks on hold, opting to revisit a long-term deal after the 2026 season—giving both sides time to assess his performance as he enters his fourth NFL year. Stroud’s stellar rookie campaign earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, with over 4,000 yards, 23 TDs, and just 5 INTs, plus nearly 200 rushing yards and 3 scores. The pause may be strategic: Stroud can prove his consistency for a bigger payday, while the Texans can evaluate his fit in their future plans. Talks stalled before their game against the Bills, but negotiations remain open—and the field will be the ultimate judge.
