## Resource

A former Stamford police officer faces felony charges after a deadly crash three years ago that killed Reverend Tommie Jackson, a beloved community pastor. At 27, Zachary Lockwood was responding to a call in his marked patrol car when he allegedly switched to emergency mode, speeding up to 65 mph in a 25 mph zone — fatally striking the reverend. The case, now in jury selection, centers on whether Lockwood’s actions constituted misconduct. His defense argues no crime occurred, while the Jackson family seeks closure and believes the earlier plea deal — offering two years and a lifetime ban from policing — was too lenient. The trial, moved to Milford due to conflicts of interest, will proceed with a six-person jury as the legal battle unfolds.
