## Resource

Dunellen police stunned drivers by sending an officer dressed as a bush onto Washington Avenue—yes, a literal shrub—to catch distracted drivers. Targeting a high-traffic downtown spot, the undercover stunt bypassed flashing lights and instead relied on surprise. By day’s end, 74 tickets were issued. The department’s social media post asked listeners if they spotted the “shrub,” reinforcing the message: put the phone down, stay alert, and wait for messages—your safety matters more.
