## Resource

A 35-year-old man, Alex Torres-Lopez, just pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault after targeting a 12-year-old girl he met online via Snapchat and Roblox, meeting her multiple times in Trenton for sexual encounters and forcing her to send explicit media. The case, uncovered in January 2026 by the Special Victims Unit, underscores the grave dangers of online predators. Prosecutors are seeking a 20-year prison term with no parole, mandatory treatment, lifetime supervision, and sex offender registration — a stark message that accountability will be enforced when predators prey on the most vulnerable.
