## Resource

Pete Alonso, ex-Met turned Oriole, crushed a solo homer in the first inning to help Baltimore obliterate his old team 7-1, completing a three-game sweep at Citi Field. The Orioles’ offense exploded with multiple homers—including one from former Mets minor leaguer Jeremiah Jackson—and Bassitt’s strong pitching kept them rolling into the seventh. Alonso’s record-setting Mets career and lucrative new deal with Baltimore make this win even sweeter, as the Orioles now sit just 2.5 games behind the White Sox for the final AL playoff spot.
