## Resource

Clarke Schmidt is nearing his return to the Yankees, set for his fifth rehab start this Saturday with Double-A Somerset—possibly his final step before rejoining the team. After Tommy John surgery in July 2025 using an internal brace, Schmidt has pitched five and two-thirds innings across four rehab outings, allowing three runs on six hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts. Manager Aaron Boone praised his progress, noting strong live BP and game performances. While viewed as a future starter, Schmidt may begin his comeback in the bullpen—potentially through the postseason—and could return during the Yankees’ upcoming road trip. His return, alongside the potential comeback of Ryan Weathers (recovering from a forearm strain), could significantly bolster the bullpen.
