## Resource

Yankees reliever Fernando Cruz is taking a bold, low-risk path with his partially torn UCL, opting to rehab and throw again soon instead of immediate Tommy John surgery—hoping for a slim shot at returning this season. His recent physicals are encouraging, and he’s been feeling better over the past week. The 36-year-old’s elbow struggles coincided with a spike in his ERA, and his absence has hurt bullpen depth. Meanwhile, George Lombard Jr. is back, Ryan Weathers is set to start throwing this weekend, and Carlos Lagrange is progressing toward Triple-A activation—with a long shot at contributing this year.
