## Resource

Yankees get a major boost as reliever Fernando Cruz avoids surgery after tearing his UCL, opting for a conservative rehab approach that could still allow him to pitch this season — a huge gamble with playoff implications looming. With the team at 80-60 and three games back in the AL East, every return matters, and Cruz’s grit could be key to their push. Manager Aaron Boone dropped the update ahead of the San Diego series, emphasizing the team’s focus on health and readiness for a deep run.
