## Resource

Rangers’ rookie squad stumbled in their training camp opener, dropping both scrimmages against the Flyers — 3-2 and then 4-1 — as they struggled to find rhythm and were forced into unfamiliar defensive roles due to a shortage of right-handed defensemen. While cautious play and lack of high-end talent, especially at center, hurt their chances, the experience proved valuable for building versatility. With veterans on the way, these early setbacks offer a clear roadmap for improvement as the organization looks to build on summer moves.
