## Resource

Jared Young’s night took a terrifying turn at Citi Field when he was struck in the head by Nolan McLean’s knee during a play at first base, forcing him to be stretchered off the field. Despite the alarming collision, Young gave a thumbs-up to fans before heading to the hospital for evaluation. McLean returned to finish the inning, visibly shaken. Young, who’s been a standout first baseman for the Mets with a .268 batting average and .764 OPS this season, was replaced by Mark Vientos. Fans and teammates are watching closely for his recovery.
