## Resource

The Mets are gearing up for their final showdown against the Giants this Sunday, aiming to rebound from a recent 9-5 loss. In a major development, they’ve promoted young righty Ernesto Mercedes from Single-A St. Lucie to High-A Brooklyn—just in time for the latter’s regular season finale. Standing 6’2”, Mercedes, who signed with the Mets in January 2022, has steadily climbed the ranks. After a solid but unspectacular 3-3 record with a 5.84 ERA in St. Lucie, he exploded in August with a 1.26 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 10 appearances. Across 103 minor league games over five seasons, he’s compiled a 9-22 record, 4.51 ERA, and 299 strikeouts. This promotion signals strong progress and a bright future for the rising pitcher.
