## Resource

The Mets are retooling their infield for next season, with David Stearns laying out a clear vision for each key player. Lindor, despite some shaky moments this year, remains the shortstop of choice thanks to his elite underlying skills. Semien brings toughness and defense but is struggling offensively — Stearns admits it’s not clicking yet, though he values the veteran’s work ethic. Polanco’s future is uncertain after injuries and a slow start, with his defensive return from ankle surgery being a major question. Meanwhile, Jared Young is stealing the spotlight with strong performances, especially against righties, and Stearns believes he’s earned a spot — possibly in a platoon — next year.
