## Resource

Jonah Tong’s return to the Mets’ rotation was a mixed but promising start—five innings, seven strikeouts, four earned runs, including a rough second inning where he surrendered a three-run homer. While his new pitches like the cutter and curveball show promise, they’re still developing. After a rocky 2023 and a shaky AAA stint, Tong’s ERA has improved and his fastball now boasts more “north-south” movement. He’s also refining the separation between his cutter and slider. Though not ready for high-stakes matchups like the Yankees, his progress is encouraging—and worth watching closely.
