## Resource

Mets first baseman Jared Young suffered a terrifying on-field collision during Thursday’s game against Philadelphia, when pitcher Nolan McLean accidentally kneeled him in the head while both players scrambled for a ground ball. Carted off the field and hospitalized for further tests, Young showed reassuring signs by giving a thumbs up — still feeling full use of his limbs. At just 31 and in his first full MLB season, Young has been a steady force with a .266 average, nine homers, and 39 RBIs in 103 games, having already battled a prior knee injury. The play unfolded amid high tension as the Phillies led by one run, and the chaotic moment left everyone on the field visibly shaken. Doctors will now determine the extent of his injuries — but for now, fans hold their breath, hoping this scare doesn’t sideline him for long.
