## Resource

Pete Alonso, once the Mets’ beloved slugger, returned to Citi Field in an Orioles uniform — and his new team swept them, including a 7-1 blowout. Despite the rivalry, Mets fans showered him with love, and Alonso, grateful for the connection he still feels with New York, acknowledged their support after giving everything during his time there. Now, the Orioles are focused on a postseason push, trailing the Wild Card by 2.5 games with just nine games left. For the Mets, moving on means starting wins — and maybe rebuilding toward 2027 to heal the sting of losing their star first baseman.
